Junior Mining Engineer

Support mine engineering, planning, and operational activities, contributing to the development of safe and efficient mine plans aligned with the company’s production objectives. The role works closely with Mine Planning, Operations, Geology, Geotechnical, and other technical teams, performing analyses and monitoring key indicators to support operational decision-making.

• Support the development and updating of short- and medium-term mine plans;

• Assist with mine sequencing, production planning, and operational Scheduling;

• Analyse ore and waste movement, equipment productivity, and utilization;

• Support optimization studies for pits, haul roads, ramps, benches, and operational areas;

• Monitor execution of mine plans and identify deviations between actual and planned performance;

• Support plan compliance analysis and the development of corrective action plans;

• Participate in reconciliation processes between mine planning, geology, and Production;

• Prepare technical reports, performance indicators, presentations, and operational controls;

• Support drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling activities where applicable;

• Assist with mine equipment productivity and capacity Analysis;

• Participate in technical studies and continuous improvement Initiatives;

• Support initiatives focused on reducing costs, increasing productivity, and optimizing mining processes;

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration between planning and operational execution.

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering;

• Applicable professional registration in accordance with local requirements;

• Previous experience through internships, graduate programs, or early-career positions within the mining industry is desirable;

• Exposure to mine planning, mining operations, or related technical areas is considered an advantage;

• Intermediate to advanced English may be desirable depending on the working environment.

Technical Knowledge:

• Fundamentals of mine planning;

• Drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling operations;

• Basic knowledge of geology, geotechnical engineering, and mining processes;

• Operational performance and productivity analysis;

• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools;

• Knowledge of mine planning software such as Micromine, Deswik, MinePlan, Datamine, Vulcan, Surpac, or similar is desirable;

• Knowledge of Power BI, Python, or automation tools is considered an advantage;

• Experience in Nickel Laterite is an asset.
